Alistair – Of Scottish origin and means defender of the people. From the game Dragon Age, it evokes the fanciness of a time gone by and nobility. 

Alyx – A spelling variation of the traditional Alex. English in origin and means defender of the people. A name of a video game character offers an edge to this traditional name. 

Anakin – Means warrior and is of American origin. No nerdy/geeky list would be complete without a few Star Wars references.

Arnold – Of German origin and means eagle power. One of the most famous action heroes is Arnold Schwarzeneggar.

Braith – Welsh in origin and means black and white. It is the name of a Redguard child in Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

Buran – The name comes from the Russian word for a snowstorm. This is the name of Russia’s space shuttle and the shuttle program that began in 1974 and ended in 1993. The shuttle was destroyed in 2002 when the facility it was in collapsed.

Calvin – Means bald and is of Latin origin. The name may be less than fashionable but it is the name of one of our favorite comic book characters from Calvin and Hobbes series.

Clark –  A name of English origin and means clerk. It is also the name of Superman’s alter-ego.

Daltus – From the Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, King Daltus is one of the Kings of Hyrule.

Dashiell – With an unknown meaning and of French origin. Dashiell is an anglicized form of the French surname ‘de Chiel’. The name lends itself to the great nickname Dash as it is in the Incredibles.

Dax – French in origin and means leader. Dax is the name of an alien from the Star Trek universe.

Desmond – Of Irish origin and means place name in Ireland. Assassin’s Creed is built around Desmond Miles.

Galahad – Means pure, noble, and selfless and is of English origin. Galahad is the son of Sir Lancelot and Elaine in Arthurian legend.

Galileo – Latin in origin and means person from Galilee. Most people are aware of the famous scientist of the same name but what many people do not know is that there was also a spaceship named Galileo. The spacecraft arrived at Jupiter in 1995 and remained there until 2003.

Garrick – Of English origin and means from a place covered by oaks. Garrick Ollivander owns the magic wand shop in Diagon Alley in Harry Potter.

Geordi – English in origin and means farmer. It was originally a diminutive or nickname for the name George. Star Trek: The Next Generations character Geordi La Forge played by LeVar Burton.

Hank – Means ruler of the home and is of American origin. An unusual superhero, Hank, the real name for Ant-Man.

Harlow – Originally a habitational surname for people who lived on or near a rocky hill. It is of English origin. Harlow Shapley was an American astronomer known for determining the position of the Milky Way.

Wade – English in origin and means traveler by the ford. Can you ever go wrong with a Deadpool reference, we think not!

Clementia – A goddess of forgiveness and mercy in Roman mythology. The name is of Spanish origin and means gracious, merciful.

Coraline – A name of American origin and means heart or maiden. It is also a diminutive form of Cora. If you love Tim Burton movies you will be instantly familiar with this name. It is the name of his beloved character – Coraline.

Daisy – Means daisy flower and is of American origin. In Agents of SHIELD, the inhuman Jiaying is the daughter of Calvin Johson. In Pokemon, Daisy was a member of the Gym Leaders of Cerulean City and the older sister of Misty.
