Doctor Who is a British television cult science-fiction program produced by the BBC. The show originally ran for 26 years from 1963 to 1989 and was then resurrected to much acclaim in 2005.
The series follows the adventures of a Time Lord called The Doctor. He is an extra-terrestrial who appears in the form of a human being. He explores the universe in his time-traveling space ship called the Tardis.
There have been 14 Doctors to date played by some of the finest actors such as William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, David Tennant, and Matt Smith to name just a few.
