2024 Skywalker Trampoline Review-Worth Buying?

You can usually never go wrong with kids and trampolines. They love to jump and bounce, providing countless hours of fun. If you’ve been shopping for a trampoline, you know there are many brands and styles to choose from.

One of the most popular brands is Skywalker. Parents who’ve bought Skywalker trampolines often comment about how safe and sturdy it is. While fun is always on a child’s mind, safety is most important for parents. Are we right?

With that said, you want to be sure you’re buying a trampoline that meets your safety standards. You also want to be sure you’re choosing one that is the right size and shape.

Is Skywalker the right one for you? Let’s take a look at the factors to consider while making your choice. By the end of this Skywalker trampolines review, you should be able to make your decision.

4 Things to Look for When You Buy a Trampoline

As you decide what type of trampoline you want to buy, there are four major things to look for. They are:

  • At least a year’s warranty on the frame
  • A safety net that can be replaced
  • Weight limit that is high enough for your jumpers
  • Made of materials that can withstand heavy jumping

You should also be aware of the different types of trampoline frames and joints out there. The most secure is the T-joints, which are also referred to as T-bars. Skywalker uses them as does most trampoline manufacturers.

How Safe Are Skywalker Trampolines?

Skywalker makes a variety of trampolines in different sizes and features. But, all Skywalker trampolines include many of the same safety features. They include safety enclosures to ensure that kids don’t fall out when they jump.

Many models also come with anchor straps and spikes. These help to keep the trampoline in place on the ground.

If the trampoline you’re considering doesn’t include these, you’ll want to purchase them separately as they’re well worth the money. All Skywalker trampolines either meet or excess ASTM safety standards.

When it comes to safety, you’ll want to follow all weight requirements. If you don’t, you’re endangering the kids inside the trampoline. Weight restrictions are put in place to protect kids while they jump.

Many people choose Skywalker trampolines because they’re a good value for the money. They also come in different sizes so it’s easy to find one that will fit your space.

People who have used Skywalker trampolines usually have them in use for about five years.

Is the Skywalker Trampoline Easy to Clean?

While your trampoline is outside, it’s going to gather pine needles, leaves, and other debris. It’s easy to use a leaf blower or broom to clean them off. You shouldn’t have trouble keeping a Skywalker Trampoline clean.

Are Skywalker Trampolines Dependable?

Yes. They’re not completely spring-free and their springs are not the longest, but many people seem to be satisfied after using them. Also, minimal problems have been reported.

Can I Assemble a Skywalker Trampoline Easily?

Skywalker trampolines can take some time to assemble. If you read the directions and follow them very carefully, you should be okay. There are online instructional videos that can also help to guide you through the process step-by-step.

Can You Get a Good Bounce with a Skywalker Trampoline?

The simple answer here is yes! Skywalker trampolines give a good bounce. But, if you want to get the best bounce, you’ll want to go for the rectangular shaped one that we mention below.

Different Sizes and Shapes of Skywalker Trampolines

As you read Skywalker trampoline reviews, you’ll notice that they come in rectangular, oval, round, and square. They also come in a miniature model.

Adults and children can use any size trampoline. Obviously, the larger the children, the larger the trampoline you should get. Adults can use different shaped trampolines too.

The round trampolines are often the most popular for children. Here’s a quick rundown of each type of trampoline to help you decide which shape is best for you.

Skywalker Trampolines – Rectangle Jump-N-Dunk Trampoline with Enclosure

Skywalker Trampolines 15-Foot Jump N’ Dunk Trampoline with Enclosure Net

Skywalker Trampolines 15-Foot Jump N’ Dunk Round Trampoline with Enclosure Net - Basketball Trampoline

Round trampolines like this one from Skywalker are probably the most popular shaped ones that you’ll find. Circle-shaped trampolines are usually the sturdiest.

No matter where the jumper starts they’re usually directed to the middle. This is great when it comes to safety because there should be less of a chance of a child falling near the side of the trampoline.

Skywalker offers four different sized trampolines ranging from 8 feet to 14 feet. While these are still on the expensive side, they’re cheaper than the rectangular trampolines.

Skywalker Trampolines 16′ Oval Trampoline and Enclosure

Oval trampolines are larger than round trampolines. So, be sure you have the space for them.

While kids will be able to make longer jumps with the oval model, they’ll also have to bounce harder to get a good bound. This could get frustrated for the little ones.

Since the shape is still round, when kids jump, they’ll be directed to the middle. This helps to keep them safe and away from the sides of the trampoline.

Oval trampolines are expensive with this particular one even more expensive than the rectangular model.

Skywalker Trampolines 14-Foot Square Trampoline with Enclosure

If you want to give your kids more space when they jump, a square-shaped trampoline could be your best friend. These give plenty of space and allow jumpers to jump from the corners towards the middle.

While they’re not as bouncy as the rectangular-shaped trampolines, they do give more bounce than the oval or round trampolines.

Skywalker offers its square trampolines in four different sizes ranging from 11 to 15 feet. They can get very pricey as you increase the size.

Weight Limits for Trampolines

Most of the Skywalker trampolines have a weight limit of 200 pounds. Some of the larger trampolines can hold up to 250 to 275 pounds. Always follow the weight limits for safety.

Trampoline manufacturers often recommend that only one person jumps on the trampoline at once. Keep that in mind when there are many children around the trampoline who want to jump at once.

What Types of Features Can I Find in Skywalker Trampolines?

Skywalker trampolines offer many different types of features and accessories. Some of them include:

Volleyball Nets

How much to play volleyball while you jump? You can buy a volleyball net that attaches to the trampoline. It’s easy to put up and down.

Basketball Hoops

Basketball hoops are also a great accessory for your Skywalker trampoline. Your child can jump for the hoop with an extra bounce in his step. The double basketball hoop attaches to the trampoline’s enclosure with a hook and loop.

Upper Toss Games

When you buy a Skywalker trampoline, there are two games that you can attach to the trampoline enclosure. You can buy a kit that comes with beanbags, a ball, game attachments, and a scorekeeper.

Lights

If your kids want to jump at night, adding lights will make it safer and more fun. Kids can jump on and off the light to make for a party-like atmosphere.

Enclosures

While all Skywalker trampolines come with an enclosure, you can always buy a new one if you need to. You can buy new enclosures separately.

How Long Will My Skywalker Trampoline Last?

The longevity of your trampoline can be anywhere from three months to years, sometimes more. It really depends on the wear and tear of the trampoline and often it’s used.

If you have children jumping on it for hours daily, your trampoline may not last as long as someone who only uses it once a month.

Consider buying a cover for your trampoline if your winters are harsh. You may even want to take the trampoline down and store it for the winter.

One heavy storm and your trampoline may be gone forever. It may be worth going the extra mile to save your trampoline from Mother Nature.

While your actual trampoline may last for a few years, your netting may not. It can wear out pretty quickly. Skywalker offers a 90-day warranty on the netting. But, it’s always a good idea to have a spare in case it breaks unexpectedly.

How Does Skywalker Compare with the Competition?

It’s no secret that there are many different trampolines on the market. But, how does Skywalker compare with other brands? Let’s check out some of the main competitors to see.

Bouncepro vs. Skywalker

Bouncepro is slightly less expensive than Skywalker, but it has fewer springs and doesn’t offer the no-gap enclosure that Skywalker does.

Generally, Skywalker trampolines are sturdier and more durable. Also, Bouncepro isn’t really made for adults, so if you were thinking of sneaking a few jumps in, Skywalker may be a better bet.

Skywalker vs Springfree springless trampolines

While Skywalker is very safe when it comes to its trampolines, Springfree is especially safe. But, Springfree is also going to cost you significantly more money.

Skywalker vs Pure Fun

One of the big differences between Skywalker and Pure Fun is that Pure Fun trampolines don’t come with an enclosure net. You can buy them separately. All parts on the Pure Fun trampolines come with a 90-day warranty.

Pure Fun does advertise how easy their trampolines are to assemble. But, there have been complaints about the frame cover not being durable and spring cover wearing out easily.

These are both things that can make or break your trampoline… more likely break!

While Pure Fun may cost less for the trampoline itself, once you start adding in the enclosure net, you’ll see that price rise. The Skywalker trampoline may be the better buy.

Skywalker vs. Sportspower

Sportspower trampolines don’t do very well with customer reviews. They tend to get taken away by the wind and have springs that break after a year of use.

But, Sportspower did get some kudos for having Velcro that helps to keep the net closed as well as snaps for extra safety. If you think about the wind concern, it may not be worth it.

Skywalker vs. Jumpsport

Jumpsport is not as high-quality as Skywalker. But, it does have a springless model that uses cords instead. Cords are known to be safer than springs. But, the cords could snap after several months of using the trampoline.

Jumpsport trampolines are known to take a while to put together. The frame comes with a 15-year warranty, but the rest of the parts are not covered under the warranty.

Also, not all Jumpsport models come with a safety enclosure. That is something to keep in mind when buying a trampoline.

Skywalker vs. Alley Oop

Jumpsport owns Alley Oop trampolines. There isn’t much variety in the type of trampolines offered, so you’ll get more variety with Skywalker.

Also, the springs on the Alley Oop trampolines are known to be on the inside of the net, where Skywalker places theirs on the outside.

This isn’t very safe because if a child jumps the wrong way, they may hit the pole directly. There is only a pad on top to protect kids. But, if that happens to tear, a child can get severely hurt.

Since Skywalker’s springs are on the outside of the net, a child won’t hit them unless the netting is ripped or broken.

Skywalker vs. Propel

A big difference between Propel and Skywalker trampolines is that not all Propel trampolines have an enclosure.

One thing to be concerned about with the Propel trampolines is that while some of its products claim they can hold up to 300 pounds, there have been safety concerns. One customer said their child who only weighed 70 pounds broke a pole.

One good thing about Propel is that it places its net inside the springs just like Skywalker. With Propel, both the net and the padded are over the springs which can deteriorate over time, just like Skywalker.

The Bottom Line

As you consider Skywalker trampoline reviews to decide if you’re going to buy a Skywalker trampoline, you’ll notice that safety is priority number one.

Skywalker is pretty much the only company that makes netting that meets the jumping pad. This helps to prevent small children from slipping through the opening.

It’s also extremely sturdy which is a big bonus for parents. Since there’s a wide variety and size and shape, you should be able to find a trampoline that fits your needs. There is even a mini trampoline for the tiniest of jumpers.

The bottom line is that Skywalker trampolines are known to be safe and offer plenty to choose from. If variety and safety are your top priorities, then Skywalker trampolines are worth the money.
